I come from a film background, so conveying emotions is at the heart of my work. When I invent stories in my paintings, I focus on situations, gestures, and body movements. The characters I paint deliberately have unusual, unreal skin colors, but they all experience deeply human stories.

My brushstrokes are suggestive, and I mix the vibrant colors of my oil pastels and oil sticks directly on my canvas. What interests me is the connection to the emotion I want to convey.

Born in France, of Haitian origin, I paint in response to our world where gray walls, assembly line work, and wars coexist. I invite the viewer to remember that we must remain full of life.
